Assoc. Prof. Dr Şermin Kalafat from the DTCH team has been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) for her project ‘GEOP-AI: The Geometry of Power: Ottoman Scientific Supradiscourse through AI-Enhanced Analysis of Mathematical and Astronomical Manuscripts (1450-1600)’. Additionally, Dr Kaan Üçsu has been awarded a TÜBİTAK 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for his project ‘Empire, Science, and Prestige: The Ottoman and Spanish Presence on the International Scientific Stage, 1860s–1914’. Kalafat and Üçsu will continue their international academic work through these research grants supported by the European Union and TÜBİTAK.
